Our History

In 1975, while working for his father at Atlas Security, Rick Britton began development on a product to automate direct-wire and McCulloh products for their central station. As the development grew, DMP was formed, first as a R&D department of Atlas Security, then as a manufacturing company. A combination multiplex, direct-wire and McCulloh fire/burglary receiver was introduced, with all three systems interfacing into the same mini-computer. It was then that DMP began offering products to central stations nationwide. Among the first were Jewelers Protection, National Guardsmen, Robinson Protection, Rhode Island Electric Protection, Automatic Burglar Alarm and Wells Fargo.

That's more than just a catchy slogan — it's the foundation for how we do business. Through quality engineering, in-house software development and tight control of every step, we’re able to produce high-quality security products at competitive prices.

“Made in the USA” is something you rarely see today. More and more products are made elsewhere. Like other manufacturers, DMP must rely on some components that are not indigenous to the U.S.

Manufacturing in the U.S. builds a tighter partnership with our customers as well as our community. We are honored to be a part of Springfield and employ area residents who are dedicated to our industry and our dealers.
